Rendering of LaSalle Park Skatepark by New Line |
Pre bid meeting for the new Buffalo, New York skatepark this past Tuesday. I think it looks like a good design from Newline Skateparks out of Canada. We bid on this project and hope to start the spring off at LaSalle Park, right at the junction of Lake Erie and the Niagara River. The park overlooks the lake, the breakwall and the Buffalo Harbor and is within walking distance of downtown and is part of the Riverwalk system.

Location of LaSalle Park Skatepark |
On September 19th, 2012 the city of Buffalo announced they had secured the funding to build the skate plaza at LaSalle Park. According to an article in Buffalo Rising the 2 acre skatepark will be located in an old pipe yard and that "some of the large pipes will be incorporated into the park-like setting," which will be pretty cool to skate- check out this article in
Buffalo Rising. The
concept designs include three phases and was created by Bill Gurney of New Line Skateparks. Who Skates hopes to be part of all 3 of these phases.
